This weekend, I attended Black Girl Magic High Tea in Fulton Market Chicago and bared witnessed of the honoring of several women recognized for their contributions in politics and business. One can not deny the forceful feeling of being in a room full of empowered women. This diverse cluster of black women excellence spoke words of wisdom and truth while accepting their roses. Yes, they are the true MVP’s. It is these type of gatherings that reminds us all of the divine magic in being a woman.

As women citizens of the world, there is no denying the multitude of hats we are positioned to wear. At any given time, we are caregivers, supervisors, friends, health advisors, counselors, prayer partners, or somewhere making the impossible, very possible. Many of us have been graced with the opportunity of having worn all of these hats in a days time.

As a Certified Life Coach, these different facets of womanhood are represented in my practice. I listen to women from all walks of life share their ongoing journey to obtain excellence and their desire to leave a grand legacy behind. There is an uprising trend in today’s women of power. No matter the road traveled, women are becoming more comfortable with being seen, living boldly, and are breaking barriers while aiming to stake their claim in this movement of Revolutionary Women. Women of all different backgrounds are defining themselves, for themselves, while immersing themselves in and throughout all industries.

While celebrating Women History Month this year, we should give honor to the women who have come before us, the ones that journey alongside us, and the younger women who will come after us. We should take pride in the diversity of our women tribes. The women that keep their ears to the ground and develop our communities. Women who sit in high places and in rooms where they evoke the only feminine energy of influence. “Kudos” to the women who have chosen to zero in on solving problems that are in arms reach. And more power to the women who shoot their aims far beyond a world that is known to her.
