Supporting Seniors and Children

The COVID-19 pandemic and the righteous uprising to end police violence against Black people has exacerbated inequities in already burdened communities throughout the Chicagoland area. This moment in our country challenges us all to reckon with our values, biases and behaviors toward each other. How do we as humans care for one another? How do we support communities who have been most impacted by structural racism and intentional divestment of resources? The journey towards healing and justice is uncertain, but in this moment people are in need and we can take action.  We are specifically planning to support Black children and seniors in communities on the Southside of Chicago. Please consider supporting our efforts to…

Mission

Children: While parents and teachers have been vigorously working on helping children get through these difficult times, their emotional state have been impacted with little opportunities to release bottled up energy or find joy. Your support is needed to help children who will not have summer programming, whose parents can’t afford to purchase substitutions, and children who simply need outlets with activity bundles that bring back an ounce of what summer means.

Senior: As we occasionally step out for groceries or a quick walk, our senior community has been subjected to remain quarantined and watch while their neighborhood businesses go up in flames. As pillars of our community, it is up to us to support them during these times. Help me by providing funding for care baskets of essential needs, such as groceries, toiletries, and activities to ease their current plight and bring a bit of joy.
